University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Activation process
- Visit the official website https://myaccount.UTRGV.edu.
- On the menu, click the option “First timer user? activate account”
- Enter all mandatory details on the account for alternative email enter the email you provided in your ApplyTexas application select the “continue” button.
- In the email account provided in ApplyTexas application check for an email from accounts@UTRGV.edu
- Click the activation link send on the email indicated as “Go to UTRGV account.”
- Check and read on the policies provided for the protection of resources then click on the “I agree” button.
- Next, set up a security question and then click the continue tab.
- Now create a password to complete the process.

The UTRGV Vaquero email is used by the UTRGV to provide notifications about the application and other University details.

- Use the windows live ID as your username then enter @vaqueros.utrgv.edu
- Enter the password you used to login to myUTRGV portal.
- For the first-time user, you should set up your UTRGV email account and access login details.

How to check UTRGV application status?
After activating your account applicant can now check the application status using the following steps.
- Go to myUTRGV website portal, enter your username and new password.
- On the menu, select the option ASSIST shown under the tab “my application section.” Immediately the ASSIST portal will open.
- Next, select the option “Admission,” followed by the tab “student admission status.”
- The system will provide information on the screen.
- The portal might request for more details on the application or state if the form is complete.
